Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Arts/ADST Teacher to inspire and educate students in a dynamic learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching arts and ADST (Applied Design, Skills, and Technology), with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Evergreen Independent School is a Pre-K to Grade 7 school with small class sizes and strong Inclusive Education practices.
Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons in arts and ADST subjects, including design, technology, and creative arts.
- Incorporate strategies to support students’ individual learning needs.
- Utilize classroom experience to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to monitor progress and address individual needs.
- Manage classroom organization efficiently, ensuring a safe and productive space for all learners.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with disabilities or special education needs.
- Employ strong organizational skills and time management to balance lesson planning and student engagement activities.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by guiding students through projects that develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in arts education or ADST is preferred.
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.
Opportunities to pick up on-call days
Schedule is afternoons (1:30-3:00) Monday - Thursday, with occasional Fridays. (Possibility for 6 hours on Wed/Thur only)
