Northern Health is seeking locum physicians to work in
the Mackenzie District Hospital & Health Centre Emergency Department in Mackenzie, British Columbia. Locums have the option of covering clinic, and/or ER. ER shifts are 24 hours (08:00- 08:00). You can expect to see an average of 12-15 patients in a
24-hour shift. Must have current, formal ER practice.
Mackenzie is nestled between the Rocky and Omineca Mountains. The community is known for its recreation and industry. It is located on the southern end of Williston Lake, which is the seventh largest man-made reservoirs in the world. Local recreation services in Mackenzie include a rec centre with ice rink, fitness room and swimming pool, 30 km of groomed cross country ski trails, arts centre which hosts visual arts, pottery, and music nights, as well as a community garden. The town is family oriented with opportunities for hockey, figure skating, swim club, lacrosse, and baseball among others. For outdoors enthusiasts, Morfee Lake offers a sandy beach with miles of hiking trails in the summer, and Powder King Ski resort is a 45-minute drive from town. Travel, accommodation, and car rental covered.
Travel stipend: $250 - $1,500 based on time. Maximum $1,500 per round trip.
