Job Summary
Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel & Crematorium is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Crematorium Operator.
Full time: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Crematorium Operator Duties:
- Ensure respectful handling and processing of decedents and cremated remains
- Operate cremation equipment following policy and procedures
- Maintain accurate cremation records and follow proper identification procedures
- Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness of crematory equipment
- Release cremated remains to appropriate authority
Requirements:
- Basic computer skills for administrative tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, empathy, and passion
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a close-knit team
- BC Driver’s license is an asset, but not a requirement
- Frequent standing for continuous periods of time
- Able to work in fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Comfortable working in hot environments
- Physically able to push and pull upwards of 250 lbs on flat and inclined flooring or ramps, strength and stamina for tasks associated with handling caskets and equipment
- Able to work in an emotionally sensitive environment
