Job Overview:
S&I Services Group. is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in commercial settings. The Environmental Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing work tasks of both housekeeping and laundry staff in a team environment.
Duties:
- Conduct environmental cleaning and maintenance tasks in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals are being used for various surfaces.
- Handle custodial responsibilities as needed.
- Manage commercial cleaning duties to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
- Overseeing the daily operations of the cleaning staff.
- Scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently.
- Conducting regular inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
- Hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Managing supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-stocked and maintained.
- Ensuring that all cleaning activities comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and other relevant regulations.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in environmental services or custodial work is preferred.
- Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- WHMIS Certification is required.
- Minimum OHHA Environmental Services Leadership Program Certification.
- Experience in maintaining a safe working environment, with strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Positive, responsible and self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision
- Must be proficient in English, both oral and written. (Knowledge of Spanish is a bonus)
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and procedures.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
- 3 Covid-19 Vaccines are mandatory.
