Build Work You Can Be Proud Of
Two Queens Home Service Ltd. is looking for an experienced Hardscape Installer to join our residential construction team in Ottawa.
We build patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor living spaces, swimming pools, pool surrounds, complete outdoor transformations, and indoor renovation projects. We care about the work underneath the finish: proper excavation, base preparation, compaction, drainage, layout, clean cuts, and details that last.
If you can perform real hardscape work, keep pace with a good crew, raise problems early, and take pride in doing the job right before it gets covered, this role is worth a conversation.
You do not need to be a Foreman. But you do need to be more than a general labourer. We need someone who can be trusted with defined work, works safely, and does not need to be managed every minute.
The Work and Year-Round Opportunities
You will work on residential hardscape, swimming pool construction, outdoor construction, and—when available—indoor renovation projects, including:
- Excavation support, grading, drainage, and site preparation
- Swimming pool construction support, including excavation, backfill, grading, drainage, coping, pool decks, and pool-site preparation
- Base preparation, spreading, screeding, and compaction
- Paver and natural-stone installation
- Clean cuts, patterns, lines, joints, and edge restraints
- Retaining wall installation and support
- Pool-deck, coping, pool-surround, backfill, and pool-site support
- Joint sand, final compaction, detailing, and cleanup
- Indoor renovation support during the winter season, including careful work inside occupied residential homes
- Material staging, tool organization, and customer-property protection
Pool construction experience is welcome and considered an asset, but it is not required. Experience with pool excavation, backfill, grading, drainage, coping, pool decks, pool surrounds, or pool-site preparation is especially valuable.
During the winter season, team members with indoor renovation experience may have opportunities to work on interior residential projects, helping support more consistent year-round employment. Indoor renovation experience is an asset, especially for candidates who can work safely, carefully, and professionally inside customers’ homes.
You will report to the Hardscape Foreman / Manager and help the crew complete each day’s plan safely, efficiently, and professionally.
What Success Looks Like
- Quality with minimal rework: Your pavers, cuts, lines, base support, grades, pool-area details, and finish work meet the foreman’s standard.
- Steady production pace: You complete assigned work without waiting for every next instruction and can anticipate what the crew needs next.
- Safe judgment: You use PPE, follow equipment and excavation safety expectations, protect customer property, and report hazards or mistakes immediately.
- Professional jobsite: Tools and materials are organized, unfinished work is protected, and the site is clean and ready for the next day.
- Coachability: You accept feedback, improve your technique, and help the crew get better.
