Job Summary
The Youth Afterschool Program Facilitator is a member of the ECRC Reach Out! team an afterschool Youth Program that provides youth with the tools to break down barriers, increase academic literacy, build capacity and engage in recreational activities. The Youth gets the opportunity to participate in leadership and life skills activities, mental wellness and cultural teachings in a safe and respectful environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, facilitate program lesson plans designed to ensure that youth needs are met in consultation with the Program Team Lead and Manager.
- Engage and participate with youth in activities such as leadership, life skills, recreational, volunteer work, culturally specific, arts and crafts,
- Ensure that ECRC program standards, guidelines, and policies are being followed,
- Develop healthy and strong professional relationships with youth, their families, and the community.
- Prepare statistical and narrative reports as required by the ECRC monthly report and funder requirements.
- Collect, summarize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data for logic model report and Annual Report.
- Represent the ECRC at local meetings, community functions, or task groups and provide presentations when required.
- Participate in staff meeting, and team meetings.
Skills and qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License
- At least 2 years direct program delivery experience with a demonstrated knowledge of developing, implementing community-based youth at risk programs.
- Experience in the development, organization, and facilitation of Afterschool program including academic and social support for youth ages 12-18 years old.
- Ability to work flexibly in a high stress environment, adapting to the needs of the youth.
- Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity is required to work effectively with the diversity of our client base.
- Knowledge of the resources available in the community to youth experiencing barriers to employment, mental health, violence, and/or addictions.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Ability to work evening and occasional weekends is required
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check
Closing date: August 10, 2026
Work hours: The hours of work will be between 2:30-8:00pm Mondays to Fridays; however, weekends may be required as per the needs of the program.
