Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM & 8am-4pm
Canuel Caterers is seeking dependable and motivated Line Cooks to join our team at the Justice Institute of BC in New Westminster. Working under the direction of the Head Chef, you will help prepare fresh, high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety and customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head Chef to prepare fresh, made-to-order breakfast and hot lunch entrées.
- Prepare healthy grab-and-go meals, including sandwiches, salads, wraps, and other cold display items.
- Follow all FoodSafe practices and health regulations to ensure food is prepared, handled, and stored safely.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, and portion control.
- Assist with daily food preparation, cooking, and kitchen organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work environment at all times.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service when interacting with guests.
- Assist the Head Chef with receiving deliveries, stock rotation, and inventory control.
- Support the team during busy service periods and contribute to the smooth daily operation of the café.
- Perform other kitchen duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid FoodSafe Certificate (required).
- Previous line cook or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.
