About This Role
We are looking for a Finance domain expert to join our Owner's Consultant team for Phase 4 of an ERP transformation engagement. Phase 4 involves approximately 20 structured working sessions with a large public sector client's Core Team and subject matter experts -- your job is to be the Finance domain authority in those sessions.
The client has approximately 500 defined business capabilities across Finance (along with HR and Supply Chain). You will help validate those capabilities, challenge where business process redesign makes sense, and support the translation of Finance capabilities into structured technical requirements.
This is a focused, relatively short engagement -- approximately 23 days concentrated in a 6 to 8 week window. It suits someone who has deep Finance ERP knowledge and wants a meaningful advisory piece of work without a long-term commitment.
What You Will Do
- Participate in Phase 4 working sessions as the Finance domain expert alongside our facilitation lead and ERP Technical Expert
- Validate Finance capability definitions across GL, AP, AR, budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting
- Challenge existing processes and recommend leading practice alternatives where business process redesign is appropriate
- Advise on ERP configuration options for Finance functions in both PeopleSoft and modern SaaS ERP contexts
- Support the ERP Technical Expert in assessing vendor platforms against Finance functional requirements during the market scan
- Contribute to the Finance sections of the technical requirements document
What You Bring
Required
- Functional depth in public sector Finance ERP -- GL, AP, AR, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Prior ERP advisory or implementation experience specifically in a Finance capacity
- Ability to communicate complex Finance ERP concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Available for approximately 23 days primarily between September and October 2026
- Available for at least one in-person visit to Calgary for Phase 4 working sessions
Nice to Have
- Public sector Finance experience -- municipal, provincial, federal, or crown corporation
- PeopleSoft Finance module experience
- Experience validating business requirements in a workshop or advisory setting
