Experienced Maintenance Mechanic - Corrugated Box Plant
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at a fast-paced corrugated box production facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery, including rotary die cutters, flexo machines, gluers, and laminators. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and optimizing machine performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repair on a variety of production machinery, including rotary die cutters, flexo machines, gluers, and laminators.
- Lead preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal machine performance and reduce production downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, ensuring tools and machinery are always ready for use.
- Accurately document all maintenance activities and work orders, providing clear communication to supervisors and team members.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve complex machine issues.
- Support production teams in identifying and addressing equipment-related concerns.
- Maintain adherence to safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced maintenance personnel when needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with local parts manufacturers and suppliers to source new parts and materials as needed for repairs and upgrades.
- Source and procure parts for repairs, ensuring that the correct specifications and quality standards are met.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies and continually improve maintenance practices.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a corrugated box or manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as rotary die cutters, flexo machines, gluers, and laminators is highly desirable.
- Technical certification or training in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related fields is a plus.
- Proven experience with sourcing parts from local manufacturers and suppliers, as well as negotiating and ensuring timely delivery of components.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, to support production needs.
- Ability to work in a hands-on, industrial environment and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.00-$29.00 per hour
