Reporting to the Post-Production Supervisor, you’ll unleash your creativity, manage a variety of video projects (from creative sponsored spots to serialized content), and collaborate with our talented writers to show off your visual storytelling skills to subscribers all around the globe!
As a Video Editor, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Duties:
Review scripts and guidance to identify story beats, basic story structure and craft engaging narrative videos specific to our various channels.
Navigate and retrieve project files and assets from a local server while maintaining data / folder structure compliance with naming conventions and cross-department norms.
Utilize video editing software (Premiere Pro and other Adobe-related applications) to log, sync audio and video, including managing multi-camera setups and refine footage at various editing stages.
Manage multiple video projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards, improving upon our documentation and procedures.
Collaborate with writers, brands, the editing team and other cross-departmental teams for feedback and reviews and ensure videos align with each channel’s style and narrative.
Incorporate graphics, animations, and other elements to elevate the visual appeal of our videos while maintaining the company’s identity and branding.
Edit and assemble sponsor spots along with B-roll and other media from different asset libraries or internal sources for production.
Update video statuses and relevant data fields in our project management and communication tools.
Perform colour correction/grading on log footage and enhance clarity and quality of audio footage.
Job Requirements:
Advanced understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro and story structure within a long-form narrative.
Proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced and high-output environment.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Effective problem-solving skills both independently and as part of a team.
Intermediate understanding of Photoshop and other visual enhancement tools.
Advanced understanding of video file formats, camera gear codecs, audio, timecode, sound and colour design.
Assets:
Graphic design, social media production experience, and familiarity with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Illustrator and Frame.io
Experience with various tools such as Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Lattice, Offshoot, Airtable and Google Workspace.Livestreaming experience (OBS, vMix, Switcher, Riverside), DAW software (ProTools, Logic), other NLE software (Davinci, Avid), Post/Virtual Production hardware (Ultimatte, HTC Vive, LED panels, etc)
An interest in computers, electronics, and emerging technologies
Compensation:
For this position, the typical hiring salary base range falls between CAD$60,000 and $69,000 per year, based on market location and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills and experience. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and additional benefits, which together make up the total compensation package, in line with our company’s philosophy to recognize and reward employee contributions.
