Position Details
- Position: RECE or ECA
- Type: Full-Time Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage – 18 months, with potential for extension)
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario
- Start Date: TBD
- Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (shift schedules within operating hours)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment for children.
- Support the implementation of a play-based program aligned with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen? framework.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Observe and document children’s learning and development.
- Maintain open and positive communication with families.
- Ensure all health, safety, and licensing standards are met in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
- Work collaboratively with team members to support a positive classroom environment.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and supervision standards at all times.
Qualifications For RECE Candidates
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Early Childhood Education diploma or degree
For ECA Candidates
- Experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning environment preferred
- Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education is considered an asset
Requirements
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Vulnerable Sector Check (current within 6 months)
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of working with young children
