MSK WorkAssist, a division of Santé Circle Health, is looking for a Registered Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Ontario’s premier orthopaedic facility in Waterloo. This role is based in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility and focuses on WSIB Specialty Clinic services, occupational rehabilitation, functional testing, physical and mental health assessment, and worksite-based assessment and treatment for injured workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing comprehensive physical, cognitive, functional, and mental health assessments.
- Completing functional testing to assess work capacity, activity tolerance, functional limitations, and return-to-work readiness.
- Applying strong physical assessment skills to support treatment planning, functional recommendations, accommodation planning, and return-to-work outcomes.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans using clinical reasoning.
- Educating clients on topics such as pain management, pacing and task modification, and cognitive-behavioural strategies.
- Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, kinesiologists, physicians, and psychologists.
- Participating in case conferences and case management activities.
- Supporting return-to-work programs at both the clinic and employer worksites, including functional assessment, job coaching, and accommodation planning where required.
- Documenting treatment sessions and submitting reports using designated software within required timelines.
- Managing caseloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Supporting clinical teams at other sites as needed, including job coaching and accommodation assessments.
- Coordinating with external healthcare providers as necessary.
Skills:
- Strong physical assessment skills, including the ability to assess functional limitations, activity tolerance, and return-to-work capacity.
- Experience completing functional testing, functional abilities assessments, or work-related functional assessments is considered a strong asset.
- Experience supporting clients with physical, mental health, and/or neurological conditions.
- Strong understanding of occupational rehabilitation, return-to-work planning, and workplace accommodations.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with WSIB, long-term disability, and auto insurance referrals is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
This position is compensated on an hourly basis. The expected annual earnings for this role range from $93,600 to $114,400, based on full-time hours.
