Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and experienced Irrigation Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing irrigation systems while providing excellent service to our clients. If you have strong problem-solving skills, deep technical knowledge of water management, and the ability to safely operate and maintain company equipment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Line Maintenance: Diagnose and repair PVC and poly line breaks, fractures, and leaks efficiently.
- Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair various electrical issues related to irrigation timers, controllers, wiring, and solenoid valves.
- Water Management & Hydro-Zoning: Apply a strong understanding of precipitation rates to ensure correct matching of nozzles and spray heads, optimizing application rates and eliminating mismatched zones.
- System Activation & Winterization: Perform seasonal start-ups (spring activations) and system blowouts/winterizations.
- Component Replacement: Replace and adjust faulty sprinkler heads, nozzles, rotors, and backflow preventers to ensure optimal coverage and water efficiency.
- Equipment & Fleet Care: Responsibly drive, operate, and maintain a company truck and utility trailer, including securing loads and performing basic vehicle circle checks.
- Customer Relations: Deal directly with customers on-site to explain repair needs, provide water-saving recommendations, and ensure a professional, positive experience.
- Billing & Administration: Submit accurate billing info, detailed work logs, and parts used to the office in a timely manner for invoicing.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician (2+ years preferred).
- Confident and responsible trailer-towing experience (backing up, maneuvering tight spaces, and securing equipment).
- Strong technical understanding of precipitation rates, matched precipitation zoning, and how different nozzles/spray heads affect overall application rates.
- Strong knowledge of various irrigation systems, commercial-grade components, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle physically demanding outdoor work.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with strong attention to detail for office paperwork.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record/abstract.
