Learning Potential Foundation is an Independent School (private ECS) looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist who will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to plan and carry out programs, enable and support learning for the child and family members in our ECS programs. The children we support with our SLP's range between Mild/Moderate, Moderate, and Severe speech delays and include varying levels of needs or diagnosis.
We work as a team and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and teacher to develop strategies, coach, and support team members in daily classroom plans. Collaborate with certified teacher to develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals.
Learning Potential Foundation is an ECS provider with a head office in Airdrie, AB. We currently support children across multiple locations in Calgary, Airdrie, Carstairs, Didsbury, Olds & Area.
Current available position:
1) We are looking for an SLP for sites across Carstairs, Didsbury, Olds & Area starting from mid-Aug 2026. This position is currently 3 days per week and will run for the 2026-27 school year and a flexible schedule may be arranged (additional days may be added if more time is preferred by SLP).
Qualifications:
-The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about working with children, teachers, and families.
-A Degree/Masters (or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology and proof of registration with ACSLPA are required.
-field experience in rehabilitation including evaluation, treatment, case management, and program development is preferred but new SLP grads are welcome
-Provide clearance from a criminal record check (including vulnerable sector search), must be current within the past 6 months
-Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills with an ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and community partners
-Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
-Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
-Analytical ability to evaluate clients with various diagnoses and establish an appropriate intervention plan
-High level of professionalism and confidentiality with an ability to deal with sensitive client issues
-Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritizing skills
Responsibilities and Activities:
- Identify speech and communication difficulty or disorder
- Assess the cause and nature of the delay/need
- Plan and implement the speech and language programming in alignment with the needs of the individual
- Conduct screenings and assessments using formal and informal speech and language measures
- Implement and document outcome measures for services and participate in team meetings related to the client
- Complete treatment summary reports and assessments as required and ensure adequate documentation
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team across preschool and daycare environments
- Assess and record client activities and progress for client evaluations
- Establish workload priorities in collaboration with others in order to ensure optimal service delivery
- Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals
