AR Licensed Driver – Oversize / Wide Load Transport
DLC Haulage is seeking an experienced AR Licensed Driver to join our team transporting oversize and wide loads throughout Ontario and across Canada as required.
While our operations are coordinated from Barrie, many loads originate from the Kingston area. The successful candidate may be based in Barrie, Kingston, or the surrounding region. Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to adapt to changing schedules, travel requirements, and customer demands.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 1-ton truck and gooseneck trailer transporting oversize and wide loads
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Ensure loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Follow permit requirements and approved travel routes
- Work closely with dispatch, pilot vehicles, customers, and regulatory agencies
- Maintain ELD records, inspection reports, and required documentation
- Represent DLC Haulage professionally at all times
Requirements
- Valid Ontario AR Driver's Licence
- Minimum 3 years commercial driving experience
- Clean driver's abstract
- Commercial insurance experience letter required
- Must meet company insurance requirements
- ELD experience preferred
- Previous oversize / wide load transportation experience is considered a strong asset
- Strong understanding of load securement practices
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in English with customers, dispatch, pilot vehicles, permit offices, and regulatory agencies
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Position Details
- Based out of the Kingston, Ontario area
- Oversize and specialized transportation
- Combination of short-haul and long-haul work
- Overnight travel required
- Willingness to stay away from home for extended periods when required
- Schedules may change on short notice due to permits, weather, road restrictions, traffic conditions, and customer requirements
- Seasonal workload with fluctuating hours based on demand
- Workload varies throughout the season and may include extended hours during peak periods.

Pay: $50,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
