A Sharp School of Music in Etobicoke is seeking a qualified music instructor for our busy music school in Etobicoke.
Must be qualified, patient, and love to teach :-)
The successful candidate will provide individual and group music instruction to students of various ages and skill levels, support student performance development, and assist with school recital preparation and events.
DUTIES:
Teach private and group music lessons to students aged 3 to Seniors
Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to student age, ability, and learning goals
Teach music across multiple instruments and styles (piano, guitar, voice, and other instruments as applicable)
Prepare students for live performances and biannual school recitals
Support students preparing for Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations
Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
Encourage musical development, creativity, and technical skill improvement
Assist with recital preparation, including student rehearsal coordination
Provide basic support during school performances and recitals (setup and operation of audio equipment such as microphones and speakers when required)
Maintain accurate student progress records and lesson planning documentation
Participate in school programming and educational planning as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Post-secondary education in Music, Music Education, or related fieldMinimum 3 years of music teaching experience (private or institutional)
Strong proficiency in piano, guitar, drum, and voice
Experience working with children and youth
Ability to teach students of varying skill levels
Knowledge of RCM curriculum or equivalent music education system
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
ASSETS: Ability to teach multiple instruments
Experience in Spanish-language instruction and Latin percussion (asset, not required)
Experience in live performance or recital coordination
Basic knowledge of audio equipment used in live events
Experience working in private music schools or academies
Past managerial workplace experience is required
