About the Position
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Line Cook to join our busy breakfast restaurant. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in preparing quality food, and works well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Cook eggs, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast meats, home fries, sandwiches, burgers, and other menu items.
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily food preparation before and during service.
- Set up and maintain an organized cooking station.
- Handle multiple orders efficiently during busy breakfast rushes.
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, cooking times, and plating standards.
- Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and at the proper temperature.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
- Keep the cooking line, kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff, servers, and management.
- Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and other kitchen duties as required.
- Work efficiently and remain calm and professional during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience preferred.
- Breakfast or brunch restaurant experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding kitchen duties.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Must be available to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
