You like uncovering insights in data and turning them into actionable solutions. As a key intermediary between operations, planning, and distribution, this analytical role bridges data, process, and execution. You will support end-to-end inventory visibility and planning, with the following responsibilities:
Inventory Reporting and Scorecard:
- Own and publish a monthly inventory scorecard tracking key metrics including on-hand inventory, weeks of supply, and aged inventory across locations and channels
- Track and improve inventory movement visibility, including replenishment and allocation
- Analyze bin utilization, fulfilment trends, and inventory flow to identify opportunities for improvement
- Support month-end and quarter-end inventory reconciliation to ensure all virtual and transit locations are clean, partnering with the finance team to close out periods
Logistics and Freight Analysis:
- Review and report on inbound and outbound transportation costs, identifying discrepancies and opportunities to improve cost efficiency; support carrier performance and rate negotiations led by the DC team
- Monitor and forecast DC and 3PL capacity requirements, including seasonal SLA and space planning
3PL Inventory Management:
- Ensure accuracy of 3PL inventory data by reconciling month-end inventory against expected unit flows, flagging variances, and working with planning to resolve discrepancies
- Monitor 3PL operational performance against SLAs, including receiving accuracy, outbound fulfilment rates, and order cycle times
- Support virtual location clean-up by identifying and resolving inventory sitting in transit or holding locations, ensuring SAP accurately reflects physical inventory positions
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a connector across supply chain, planning, and distribution to ensure data accuracy and visibility
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies across systems, identifying root causes for fulfilment or allocation issues
- Identify, collect, and analyze key supply chain metrics to measure and improve performance
- Collaborate with operations and planning teams to troubleshoot and improve processes
- Provide clear, timely communication on key metrics, inventory availability, and planning insights
Key Performance Indicators:
- Leading: Scorecard publish cadence and accuracy; 3PL inventory variance rate; virtual location balance (open vs. cleared); inbound cost vs. plan
- Lagging: Month-end and quarter-end close accuracy; fulfilment rate by channel; 3PL SLA attainment (receiving, outbound, cycle time); aged inventory as a percentage of total on-hand
Potential Projects:
- Conduct a full virtual location audit across SAP to identify and clear aged transit and holding balances, and establish a recurring clean-up process
- Build a carrier cost dashboard tracking inbound and outbound freight spend by lane, carrier, and month to surface rate anomalies and support annual negotiations
- Develop a 3PL SLA tracking tool that measures receiving accuracy, outbound cycle times, and fulfilment rates against contracted targets on a weekly basis
- Build a capacity planning model for DC and 3PL space and labour requirements by season
