A warehouse associate is an individual responsible for the day-to-day movement of goods in and out of a facility. The warehouse associate is responsible for receiving, processing and storing a facility's inventory. They oversee the outbound shipments, verifying the accuracy of orders and ensuring that all items are properly packaged and labeled.
Role - Typical Duties:
- Responsible for packaging all orders in a manner that prevents damage during transit, using proper packaging and following specific instructions to client’s requests
- Drive forklifts to pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations.
- Understand and follow all work instructions and procedures related to shipping dangerous goods.
- Responsible for final verification and accuracy of all sales orders.
- Receiving customer’s returns and conducting incoming inspections
- Load and unload carriers with outbound and inbound shipments
- Receive and count stock items, and record data using a computer and employer’s manufacturing software.
- Picking items from stock for jobs and sales orders.
- Drive from and to offsite warehouse as needed.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Act as a support for receiving tasks as needed.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Any tasks as assigned by management.
- Ensure to follow any health and safety measures put in place by ICOR.
Skills and Training Required
- Familiarity with computer and ERP systems
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent a must.
- Base knowledge hand tools
- Previous stock room or warehouse experience
- A Valid forklift license
- Able to lift at least 60 lbs.
- A positive attitude and desire to constantly improve.
- Willingness to learn from training and constructive criticism.
- Good time management, organization skills.
