We are looking for a motivated Electrical Designer to join our growing team in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in building electrical design who is looking to grow professionally with mentorship and hands-on project experience.
The successful candidate will assist with the design and coordination of electrical systems for building projects, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, communications, security, and other low-voltage systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical drawings and design documents using AutoCAD.
- Assist with the design of building electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarm, communications, and security systems.
- Perform site visits to review existing conditions and construction progress.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support senior engineers and designers with calculations, layouts, reports, and construction administration tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience or background in building electrical design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable building electrical standards.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for site visits.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work from the office.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a mentorship-based environment.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation is considered an asset.
