You will help your team deliver public health and specialized microbiology for Alberta through leadership and excellence in surveillance, research, specialized laboratory testing and outbreak and emerging infectious diseases response. As a MLT I you will perform a variety of laboratory functions which includes: recognizes bacterial pathogens and follows established protocols for identification, operating and maintaining technical equipment while adhering to protocols and safety guidelines; entering and validating results into Laboratory Information System, recognizing testing/reporting discrepancies and takes appropriate action, performing quality control procedures necessary for maintaining effective quality systems management of the area, participating in procedure reviews and train staff. You may have the opportunity to train in Virology.
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
