Job Scope
The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen (e.g. grill, sauté, pastry, or larder). They ensure high-quality food preparation, consistency, and presentation while supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations. This role requires strong culinary skills, leadership, and the ability to maintain standards in a fast-paced lounge environment.
Job Responsabilities
- Assist Sous Chef to maintain highest professional food quality and sanitation standards.
- Ensures the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keeps up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques.
- Prepares, pre-cooks, cooks and presents menu items in a timely fashion; following standardized recipes and quality standards
- Address general questions from guest regarding menu items
- Ensures cleanliness and hygiene is maintained and that food products are rotated to ensure high standards of freshness.
- Ensures refrigerators and storage are organized and maintained and that all food products are correctly stored.
- Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintaining.
- Submits food product requirements, equipment maintenance or issues to the Sous Chef for purchasing
- Assists Commis and Sous-Chefs with product receipts, breakdown, storage and rotation
- Cleans culinary equipment after use and/or removes soiled equipment to the dish pit
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Operate and maintain all department equipment and reporting of malfunctioning.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Job Requirements
Qualifications Required:
- Valid Food Handler certificate.
- Able to work different hours of shift, no fixed schedule.
- Strong sense of customer service, attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Communication and writing skills.
- Good organizational skills, self-motivated and positive attitude.
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solving ability.
- Other related duties and special or ad hoc projects, as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Able to stand for long hours.
- Able to lift up 50lbs of weight
