Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Shop Foreman for our automotive service center, Automotive 310-S. This leadership role involves overseeing daily shop operations, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring high-quality vehicle repairs and maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, dealership experience, and excellent customer service skills to lead our team effectively and maintain operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the automotive repair shop, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs
- Lead and mentor technicians, providing guidance on complex repairs and troubleshooting procedures
- Perform diagnostic assessments using schematics, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to identify issues accurately
- Oversee vehicle repairs including mechanical work, welding, assembly, and maintenance tasks
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality control protocols
- Manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for shop operations
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and technical issues
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in automotive repair is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive systems and repairs
- Proficiency with schematics, assembly processes, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during vehicle repairs or parts handling
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising a team of technicians or mechanics
- Excellent customer service skills to address client needs professionally
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to enforce safety standards in the shop environment
- Prior experience working with automotive schematics and diagnostic tools is essential
