Position Summary
Spark Rentals is seeking motivated, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our Operations Team as an Event Setup & Delivery Technician. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and thrives as part of a collaborative team.
As a member of our operations team, you will play an important role in ensuring our clients receive professional service by safely delivering, installing, and removing event rental equipment (including but not limited to lighting, Audio/Visual, staging, and dance floors). You will work on events throughout the city including venues such as the RBC Convention Centre, Victoria Inn, Fort Garry Hotel, Fairmont, Delta, among others.
This is a casual, part-time position with flexible scheduling based on operational requirements. Employees who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and a positive attitude will have opportunities for additional hours and career advancement within the company.
We are seeking individuals that show strong competencies with the ability to problem solve, follow instructions and develop industry specific skills that further their ability to succeed.
We will promote, prioritize shifts, and provide added responsibility to individuals that work hard and succeed. Preference will be for individuals that show success and open to working throughout the year.
Friday and Saturday availability required. Opportunity to work tear downs at 1am (Bonus pay $25/hour).
~6-18hours a week
Responsibilities:
- Safely load, transport, and unload event rental equipment.
- Deliver, install, and dismantle stages, dance floors, tables, chairs, pipe and drape, lighting, audiovisual equipment, and other rental products.
- Complete deliveries and installations efficiently while maintaining company quality standards.
- Conduct equipment inspections before and after each rental.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse inventory.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service at all job sites.
- Follow all company safety policies and safe work practices.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
No experience is required with on the job training provided. The job is fast paced and requires work to be completed efficiently with attention to detail.
Required:
- Valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver's Licence. Access to a vehicle is not mandatory, but advantageous.
- Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic with a dependable attendance record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Can work well independently and with a team
- Ability to provide strong customer service
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Preferred:
- Students (19-24) seeking supplemental income.
- Experience in event rentals, moving, delivery, warehouse operations, or general labour.
- Experience operating cargo vans or light trucks is considered an asset.
