Grader Operator
Rural Municipality of Vanscoy No. 345 Full-Time | Vanscoy, Saskatchewan
The RM of Vanscoy No. 345 is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Grader Operator to join our Public Works team. Reporting to the Superintendent, the successful candidate will help maintain municipal roads and infrastructure through grading, snow removal, drainage work, equipment operation, and general road maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate a motor grader to maintain municipal gravel roads.
· Perform grading, gravel spreading, road shaping, shoulder maintenance, and drainage work.
· Conduct snow removal and winter road maintenance.
· Operate other municipal equipment as required, including loaders, tractors, trucks, and mowers.
· Complete equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and operational records.
· Assist with culvert maintenance, ditching, and other public works projects.
· Follow all municipal safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
· Valid Saskatchewan driver's licence.
· Experience operating heavy equipment safely.
· Knowledge of gravel road maintenance practices.
· Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preference will be given to candidates with grader operating experience, municipal road maintenance experience, snow removal experience, or a Saskatchewan Class 1A licence.
Compensation & Benefits
· $28.13 per hour, in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
· Benefits, pension, vacation, statutory holidays, and other provisions as outlined in the collective agreement.
· Training opportunities and required PPE provided.
Working Conditions
This position involves year-round outdoor work, operation of heavy equipment, and occasional extended hours during snow events, emergencies, or peak construction periods.
