Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for ages 3-5 years old. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a genuine love for early childhood education. This role involves guiding children through developmental milestones, fostering social and emotional growth, and implementing age-appropriate activities, as well as experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings, are highly valued. The Preschool Teacher will play a vital role in supporting each child's individual needs while promoting a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's progress and well-being.
- Use computer skills and classroom technology to enhance teaching activities and maintain accurate student records.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement strategies while maintaining discipline and structure.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when necessary.
- Organize daily routines, activities, and transitions to ensure smooth classroom operations.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the classroom environment.
- Collaborate with team members to plan curriculum enhancements and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood education setting is preferred.
- Licensed BC ECE certificate
- Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education programs is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to lead engaging activities.
- Proficiency in computer operation, including educational software and recordkeeping tools.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young learners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents.
