Compensation Options
Jacobs Transportation offers flexible compensation models designed to support experienced logistics professionals.
Option 1 – Draw plus Commission
A competitive draw against commission while you build and develop your book of business.
Option 2 – High Commission Structure
Straight commission model offering significantly higher earning potential for experienced brokers with established shipper relationships.
Customized compensation structures may be available for candidates with an existing book of business.
The Role
As a Freight Broker / Logistics Account Manager, you will develop and manage relationships with shipping customers while coordinating freight across Canada and the United States.
You will manage the full lifecycle of shipments while ensuring exceptional service for both customers and carriers.
This role provides the opportunity to build and manage your own portfolio of clients while leveraging the reputation and resources of Jacobs Transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Build and develop relationships with shipping customers
Source and secure freight opportunities across North America
Coordinate shipments involving refrigerated, dry van, and flatbed equipment
Negotiate competitive rates with both shippers and carriers
Track shipments from pickup through delivery
Act as the primary contact between customers, carriers, and receivers
Proactively resolve transportation issues when they arise
Maintain accurate load and customer information within company systems
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation coordination
Strong understanding of freight markets and carrier sourcing
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments and accounts simultaneously
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems
