Indigenous Summer Camp Counsellors
Title: SUMMER CAMP COUNSELLORS ( POSITIONS)
Location: Barrie Native Friendship Centre, 175 Bayfield Street
Dates of Work: Monday June 29, 2026 – Friday August 21, 2026
Hours: 9:00 am – 4:30pm 35 hrs./wk.
Wage: $17.60hour
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To create and support children and families with Indigenous-based summer activities and projects through on the job training initiatives
- To participate in weekly activity planning of activities and projects
- To assist in shopping for materials and supplies, devising and compiling activity kits
- To facilitate activities and learning sessions
- To monitor, engage and support children ages 7 to 12
- Collaborate with all BNFC staff
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be between the ages of 15-30 inclusive
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at time of application
- Previous experience working with children and/or youth an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous culture
- Must provide a clear, current CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Driver’s license is an asset
