The Director, Sales & Marketing is a senior executive leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, brand positioning, customer acquisition, and market expansion within the nutraceutical industry.
This role requires a highly strategic, data-driven, and innovative leader with strong expertise in B2B sales, digital marketing, customer relationship management, and AI-powered commercial strategies. The successful candidate will lead the company’s sales and marketing initiatives while leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, analytics, and emerging technologies to optimize performance, customer engagement, forecasting, and overall business growth.
The ideal candidate has experience within nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, food ingredients, natural health products, or related regulated industries and thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Commercial Strategy
- In collaboration with the Executive Team develop and execute the company’s overall sales and marketing strategy to achieve revenue growth and market expansion objectives.
- Serve as a member of the executive leadership team and contribute to company-wide strategic planning.
- Lead and mentor sales, marketing, business development, customer service, and brand management teams.
- Establish measurable KPIs, sales targets, marketing performance metrics, and reporting systems.
- Identify new market opportunities, product categories, distribution channels, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive innovation, scalability, and operational excellence across commercial functions.
Artificial Intelligence (AI), Automation & Data Analytics
- In collaboration with the Executive Team, lead the implementation of AI-driven sales and marketing technologies to improve lead generation, customer engagement and forecasting.
- Utilize AI-powered CRM systems, predictive analytics, communicate innovation to customers and business intelligence tools to optimize sales strategies and customer insights.
- Use AI tools to analyze market trends, competitor activity, consumer behavior, and sales performance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting systems to support data-driven decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows, improve operational efficiency, and increase ROI across commercial activities and trade shows.
- Collaborate with technology partners and internal teams to support digital transformation initiatives.
Sales Leadership & Business Development
- Lead all North America sales initiatives.
- Develop strategic relationships with key accounts.
- Negotiate pricing and agreements.
- Drive sales forecasting, pipeline management, and account performance analysis.
- Identify opportunities for new customer acquisition and market penetration.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to align sales forecasting with inventory planning and production capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to support growth strategies.
Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Oversee all marketing initiatives including digital marketing, branding, social media, content creation, trade shows, advertising, and public relations.
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns to support brand awareness, lead generation, and customer retention.
- Lead ingredients positioning, messaging and education initiatives.
- Manage website performance, SEO/SEM strategies, e-commerce growth, and digital customer engagement.
- Utilize AI tools to optimize digital advertising performance, audience targeting, and customer journey mapping.
- Collaborate with regulatory and product development teams to ensure compliant marketing claims and messaging.
- Monitor marketing ROI and campaign effectiveness using analytics and performance metrics.
Customer Experience & Market Intelligence
- Enhance customer experience strategies through data analysis, CRM optimization, and AI-assisted customer engagement tools.
- Analyze consumer insights, sales trends, and market intelligence to support strategic decisions.
- Develop customer retention and loyalty initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and suppliers.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and business meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or related field.
- MBA or advanced business degree considered an asset.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, marketing, and business development.
- Experience within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, natural health product, food ingredient, wellness, or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.
- Proven success leading revenue growth initiatives and commercial strategy execution.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM systems, e-commerce, and sales analytics.
- Demonstrated experience implementing AI tools, automation systems, and business intelligence platforms.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, forecasts, and commercial KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented environment.
- Ability to travel throughout North America and internationally to attend trade shows, industry events, and meetings with key accounts and strategic partners as needed.

Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
