Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Chinese School, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the Chinese School and Summer Camp program.
Main Duties
- Work closely with Administrative Officer, Principals and Teachers to facilitate all aspects of Chinese School operations, programs and activities;
- Prepare teaching materials and provide copies for teachers and students as required;
- Collect and review all student applications, input information and maintain up-to-date the database;
- Provide customer service and handle incoming inquiries in relation to Chinese School;
- Liaise with parents, students and teachers on all matters of Mon Sheong Chinese School campuses;
- Keep inventory of supplies and equipment of the department;
- Assist in planning, logistics and execution of departmental initiatives;
- Attend school campus Friday/Saturday on a weekly basis;
- Perform other administrative duties for Chinese Schools as required;
- Coordinate with other departments of Mon Sheong Foundation;
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- High School diploma with minimum of 2 years’ administrative experience;
- Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
- Fluency in both English and Cantonese is required; proficiency in Mandarin is considered an asset;
- Ability to type in Chinese language an asset;
- Detail-oriented and strong multi-tasking skills;
- Some heavy lifting required;
- Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license, travel within GTA by own vehicle is required;
- Availability for weekday office hours is required, with additional flexibility for Saturday mornings as needed;
- Flexible schedule preferred; 20 hours per week.
