Moring Disability Support Worker for Teen with Autism

Job Description
*We are looking for a FEMALE Disability Support Worker*
We are a warm, supportive family seeking a reliable, kind, and patient support worker to assist our 17-year-old daughter, who is autistic. This role would be an excellent fit for a student (education, psychology, social work, kinesiology, etc.) or an Educational Assistant (EA) looking for flexible, meaningful work.
Our daughter is a very loving, gentle teenager with no behavioral challenges. She has a severe receptive and expressive language delay and benefits from consistent, calm support.
Responsibilities
- Help with morning hygiene routine
- Prompting to eat breakfast
- Stay with her at our home when parents are away
- Support daily routines and transitions
- Ensure her safety and well-being at all times
- Drop off at school between 8:45-8:55am
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with parents
Schedule & Availability
- Flexible hours based on school schedule
- Hours available any time she is not in school
- Ideal candidate availability includes:
- Mornings (to allow parent to go to work)
- Additional hours may be available depending on appliant
Qualifications
- Experience with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
- Ideal for post secondary students or EAs (would consider high school student 16+)
- Patient, dependable, calm, and compassionate
- Comfortable with walking and light physical activity
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Non-Smoking
- Ok with dogs (pug &Lab)
