Symbiosis Pediatric Therapy Inc. is seeking a registered Clinical Counsellor to join our multi-disciplinary team. The Clinical Counsellor will bring their work experience with families with neuro-divergent children and provide client and family care within a trauma-informed approach. The Clinical Counsellor will be responsible for case management and providing resource-based counselling to families who are experiencing crisis and or mild to moderate mental health and related concerns. The work will take place in the office, community and virtually at the preference of the client.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide family counselling to individuals and families to support the client in managing current challenges and increase their effectiveness in dealing with future concerns and/or challenges.
- Work collaboratively to provide case management and risk assessment, goal setting, planning, counselling, closure and where appropriate, follow up.
- Liaising and referral with community agencies, committees, professionals where needed
- Ensure that work practices comply with the clinic’s health and safety standards, program policies and procedures and administrative records are complete, timely and accurate.
Qualifications Required:
- Clinical Counsellor will have a graduate degree in Counselling, Social work, Psychology or a related field.
- Registered member in good standing with a professional association like BCACC or CCPA.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience working with families, children, and youth in a clinical counselling setting. Experience in clinical and/or educational interventions with children, adolescents, and families (including crisis intervention).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- The Clinical Counsellor understands and can apply resource-based counselling; has the capacity to work from more than one modality (including modalities suited to children) to respond to each client.
- Is knowledgeable about counselling theories and practices, risk assessment and case management.
- Able to work well independently.
- Demonstrates written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates creativity with case planning, program development and supervision.
- Shows flexibility in responding to changing conditions and is a committed team player.
Additional Requirements:
- Clear Criminal Record Check is required.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Valid and unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $70.00-$100.00 per hour
