Insignia Software develops software solutions for libraries, schools, and educational organizations across North America. We are expanding our cloud security and compliance initiatives and are seeking a Security Analyst to help strengthen our Azure infrastructure, network security posture, and FedRAMP readiness efforts.
Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Security Analyst with experience in Microsoft Azure cloud security, network security, and security compliance frameworks. The successful candidate will assist with securing cloud environments, monitoring threats, implementing security controls, and supporting FedRAMP-related security and compliance initiatives.
This role works closely with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to improve security across systems, applications, and networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve security across Microsoft Azure environments
- Configure and maintain Azure security services including:
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Azure Firewall
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Conditional Access and Entra ID security controls
- Assist with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and related compliance initiatives
- Perform vulnerability assessments and security reviews
- Investigate security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activity
- Support implementation of secure network architecture and segmentation
- Review firewall rules, VPN configurations, and cloud access policies
- Assist with incident response and remediation activities
- Maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures
- Participate in risk assessments and security audits
- Work with IT and development teams to improve overall security posture
- Support logging, monitoring, and SIEM initiatives
- Help implement security best practices for SaaS and cloud-hosted applications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or cloud security
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure environments
- Understanding of:
- Network security principles
- Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS
- Identity and access management
- Security monitoring and incident response
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST, or similar compliance frameworks
- Experience with Microsoft security tools and cloud security controls
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education Requirements
At least one of the following is required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Diploma in Information Technology or Cybersecurity with relevant professional experience
- Relevant certifications are considered an asset, including:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- CISSP
- CompTIA Security+
- SC-200 / SC-100
- CCNA Security or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting SaaS environments
- Experience with Azure networking and hybrid cloud environments
- Knowledge of SIEM and SOC operations
- Experience with vulnerability management tools
- Understanding of Zero Trust architecture
- Familiarity with security hardening and compliance documentation
- Experience working in regulated environments
