Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. The role is 40 hours per week consisting of weekends and weekdays.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a friendly atmosphere.
- Schedule and confirm appointments using electronic medical records systems.
- Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, inquiries, and appointment requests efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries in a timely manner.
- Fill prescriptions and ensure accuracy
- Ensure waiting area and examination rooms are clean, tidy and stocked
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations within the clinic.
- Provide information on services offered and educate clients on pet care as needed.
Skills
- Administration experience (1-2 years) is preferred and beneficial
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a medical office environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to veterinary care is beneficial.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
