Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing products for shipment, ensuring timely and efficient order fulfillment. This role requires physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with warehouse management systems to maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Duties
- Efficiently pick orders using warehouse management system (WMS) to locate items accurately
- Operate clamp trucks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment safely to retrieve products
- Conduct heavy lifting of goods and materials, adhering to safety protocols
- Verify quantities and quality of items before packing for shipment
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper stacking of inventory
- Assist in inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
- Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions
- Use basic math skills to verify order quantities and prepare shipping labels
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or order picking is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating clamp trucks and forklifts is a plus
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying orders
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Prior experience with order picker equipment is desirable but not required; training will be provided
