Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Childcare Assistant Supervisor & Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our dynamic team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience working with children and is passionate about providing a positive and educational environment.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience as R.E.C.E. with preschool to school age children experience
- Working knowledge of the CCEYA (Childcare Early Years Act)
- Working knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?
- Working knowledge of ELECT
- Working knowledge of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice stipulated by the College of Early Childhood Education
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Ability to manage a class and collaborate with colleagues
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the supervisor in overseeing daily operations and activities
- Provide guidance and support to staff members
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children
- Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for children
- Establish positive relationships with children, parent and colleagues
- Develop activities that are developmentally appropriate for the children in the class
- Engage with children to support their development
- Maintain records of each child’s progress and development
- Ability to effectively manage conflict and difficult situations
- Critical thinking and decision making
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and be flexible.
- Ability to take initiative, works well on their own and on a team
- Strong administrative skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Work, Excel, and Web based software’s.
- Excellent command of the English language both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage and develop an effective team.
- Provide parent tours of the centre
- Implementation and adherence to centre policies and procedures to optimize program.
- Aid the Supervisor in management duties and serve as the Supervisor when the Supervisor is not on site.
- Ensure positive communication with parents, staff and outside parties.
- Ensure all children have proper paperwork on file, including their health information, allergies, details of any medical conditions they suffer from and authorization from the parents.
- Ability to work all shifts between 7:00a.m. – 6:00p.m.

Educational/Other Requirements
Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) Diploma
Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (Proof in Good Standing)
Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
Vulnerable Police Check (upon hire)
Immunization Record & Medical Check (upon hire)
Training (to be provided by centre) Ministry of Labour
Training (to be provided by centre) Occupational Health & Safety
References
