Prism Property Management is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Technician / Painter / Cleaner to join our team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, cleaning, painting, and preparation of residential rental properties while providing excellent service to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Complete general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Perform drywall patching, caulking, touch-ups, and painting.
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC-related maintenance within the scope of the position.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems, equipment, common areas, and vacant units.
- Identify maintenance deficiencies and recommend corrective action.
- Maintain the cleanliness of mechanical rooms, maintenance areas, and exterior grounds as required.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, salting, and exterior upkeep.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers when required.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repair work.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety requirements, and applicable legislation.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to residents, visitors, and contractors.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies, if required.
Qualifications
- Experience in residential building maintenance, property management, construction, or a related trade.
- Experience with painting, unit turnover, and general cleaning.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, and HVAC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation are considered an asset.
- WHMIS and Working at Heights certifications are considered assets.
