Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Leader to oversee and enhance our safety programs within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of safety awareness, and support continuous improvement in environmental and health standards. Responsibilities:
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Environmental, Health & Safety:
· Through the auditing program, ensure employee compliance to the company’s safety and environmental systems.
· EH&S incident investigation and reporting.
· Leads site EH&S training.
· Monitors, maintains, and develops Company Safety programs.
· Primary contact with Toronto Water and MECP on environmental regulatory issues.
· Primary contact for community concerns.
· Maintains & develops the internal EH&S auditing program.
· Main contact for Fire Department, owns fire protection plan.
· Co-ordinates employee safety & JHSC meetings. Maintains and summarizes key KPIs related to environmental issues.
· Monitors, maintains, and develops Company Environmental programs.
· Manages effluent treatment system with a “Hands-On Approach”.
· Manages hazardous waste, waste and recycling disposal contractors.
· Waste water spill reporting.
· CHEMTRAX reporting.
· NPRI reporting.
· EASR Reporting.
· Stays up-to-date on all Federal, Provincial and Municipal reporting requirements.
· Other duties as assigned.
Plant Services:
· Manages building security (keys, key fobs, etc).
· Updates Nitta TV and physical bulletin boards.

TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· Minimum 5 years’ experience with Safety Standards (OHSA), WHMIS.
· Experience with Municipal, Provincial, and Federal environmental regulation.
VIII. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 5 years’ experience with Environmental and Safety Standards in a manufacturing environment. 4-year degree or higher will be considered in lieu of experience.
Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal safety and environmental regulations. Strong knowledge of municipal sewer by-laws preferred but not necessary.
Experience conducting safety audits and inspections and developing and implementing corrective action plans.
Strong training and communication skills, and experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
Experience investigating incidents and accidents and developing and implementing preventive measures. MS Office Intermediate level is mandatory. Advanced level is an asset.
