Lead TSSA processes, compliance requirements, and related administration
Serve as the branch's technical expert on gas-fired equipment and appliances
Perform service, maintenance, commissioning, inspection, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment including applied air handling units, rooftop units, hydronic heating boilers, and make-up air units
Conduct advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and independent problem resolution on complex HVAC systems
Inspect and test equipment to verify system performance, functionality, and safe operation
Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures, downtime, and service callbacks
Repair or replace defective equipment, components, controls, wiring, and associated system parts
Conduct warranty service work by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality
Lead equipment rebuilds, retrofits, and upgrades while providing technical direction to apprentice and junior technicians through hands-on mentorship and field leadership
Program and configure control systems utilizing computers, touchscreen interfaces, and related technologies
Act as the primary technical liaison with customers, building owners, and site personnel to provide technical expertise and customer support
Identify opportunities for additional repairs, maintenance, and service enhancements
Educate technical and non-technical customers on equipment operation, maintenance requirements, and best practices
Prepare accurate service documentation, project reports, billing information, timecards, and other required records in a timely manner
Participate in available technical training programs and maintain all required licenses and certifications
Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
Complete jobsite hazard assessments prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied, customer, and applicable safety requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Technical school education with a valid G1 Gas Technician License in good standing
10+ years of related HVAC service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Accepted as a Foreman by the union
Previous experience mentoring, coaching, and developing technicians
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Ability to participate in a rotational emergency on-call schedule
Required licenses, certifications, and training cards as mandated by local regulations
Legal authorization to work in Canada; visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
Experience with advanced controls and building automation systems (preferred)
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills (preferred)
Demonstrated leadership experience within commercial and industrial HVAC environments (preferred)

Compensation for this position is negotiable and will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall fit for the role. Benefits are provided through the applicable local labor union and aligned with the collective bargaining agreement.
