Electrical-Mechanical Production Assembler
Position Summary
RIC Electronics is seeking a hands-on Electrical-Mechanical Production Assembler to support the assembly and manufacturing of electrical power equipment. This position is suited to someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable using hand and power tools, and experienced with electrical wiring and mechanical assembly.
The successful candidate will work from drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and work instructions to build electrical panels, subassemblies, and complete systems safely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical panels, enclosures, subassemblies, and equipment.
- Cut, strip, label, route, crimp, and terminate wires and cables.
- Install electrical components, wiring ducts, DIN rail, terminal blocks, connectors, and related hardware.
- Perform mechanical assembly, including drilling, cutting, fastening, and fitting components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, crimpers, drills, saws, torque tools, and measuring equipment.
- Read and follow mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Measure and cut wire, cable, metal, and other materials accurately.
- Verify that components and assemblies meet drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
- Identify missing parts, drawing discrepancies, quality concerns, and production issues, and report them to the Production Foreman or Production Manager.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Follow company safety procedures, quality requirements, and production processes.
- Assist with material handling, equipment movement, and other production activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined with practical, hands-on assembly experience.
- Previous experience in electrical assembly, panel building, manufacturing, automotive, construction, or a related trade environment.
- Experience cutting, stripping, crimping, routing, and terminating wire.
- Comfortable using common hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read measurements and follow drawings and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and assembly issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to manage assigned work efficiently.
- Ability to communicate production concerns clearly and promptly.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform physical assembly work throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assembling industrial electrical panels, battery chargers, UPS systems, energy-storage equipment, or similar products.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience using hydraulic or pneumatic crimping tools.
- Familiarity with torque requirements and electrical workmanship standards.
- Electrical, mechanical, automotive, or industrial training is considered an asset.
- Forklift or material-handling experience is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in a production and manufacturing environment.
- Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and production equipment is required.
- Personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
- The position involves regular standing, lifting, carrying, bending, and working around electrical and mechanical equipment.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to the Production Foreman or Production Manager.
Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
