Overnight Awake Residential Care Worker (78 hours bi-weekly)

This role supports individuals with developmental disabilities who live in our Supported Living homes to contribute and participate fully in their community.
YOUR IMPACT
- Demonstrated ability to support adults with developmental disabilities and mental health issues and can implement effective behaviour management strategies.
- Responsible for the accurate and consistent implementation of all behaviour support strategies and provide timely feedback on observations and experiences to support ongoing review and necessary adjustments to the behaviour support plans.
- Collect and record behavioural and support-related data accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective monitoring and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans
- Establish respectful relationships which promote dignity and empower individuals to make informed decisions.
- Encourage individuals to communicate their needs and build connections; to live self-determined lives in the community surrounded by friends and family.
- Work as part of a team to assist individuals to identify and achieve personal goals; providing input and progress reports as needed.
- Perform personal care as required.
YOUR CAPABILITIES
- Diploma in a related field at least two years experience working with people with disabilities or other barriers to community inclusion (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization.
- Reliable problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Approved Criminal Record Check.
- Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 4 preferred, or willingness to obtain).
- Use of personal vehicle will be required.
