Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Pizzaiolo Manager to lead our pizza kitchen operations. This role is ideal for a passionate pizza professional who combines exceptional pizza-making skills with strong leadership and operational management experience. The successful candidate will oversee daily kitchen operations while actively participating in dough preparation, pizza production, quality control, staff development, and inventory management.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
- Lead, coach, and motivate the pizza kitchen team to achieve operational excellence.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate kitchen staff.
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health regulations, and food safety standards.
- Manage labor costs and staffing levels to meet business needs.
Pizza Production & Quality Control
- Oversee all aspects of dough production, fermentation, and pizza preparation.
- Maintain consistent product quality, presentation, and recipe adherence.
- Actively work alongside the team.
- Monitor and improve kitchen workflows, efficiency, and productivity.
- Develop and test new menu items, seasonal features, and specialty pizzas.
Inventory & Cost Management
- Manage food ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Monitor food costs, waste, and portion control to maximize profitability.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and storage procedures.
- Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary.
Health & Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Conduct regular cleanliness and maintenance inspections.
- Maintain all required documentation and records.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pizzaiolo, Pizza Chef, or similar role.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant or pizzeria environment.
- Strong understanding of dough fermentation, pizza production techniques, and oven operations.
- Proven ability to lead and develop kitchen teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, food costing, and labor management.
- Food Safety Certification required or willingness to obtain.
