Overview
The Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in providing exceptional patient care. This position involves assisting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, managing inventory, and ensuring that the pharmacy operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns regarding medications.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
- Organize and restock medication supplies as needed.
- Assist in the training of new staff members on pharmacy procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care within the hospital setting.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Experience or certification as a pharmacy technician is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of medication administration processes to ensure safe dispensing practices.
- Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and effective communication with patients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a retail pharmacy environment, adapting to the fast-paced nature of pharmacy operations.
