POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to rebuild major components for mechanical drive mining trucks from brands like CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi etc. The components include but are not limited to rear wheel groups, front corner groups, brake assembles and differentials.
Heavy Equipment Technicians are responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and machinery through diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance. This hands-on role is integral to minimizing downtime and supporting smooth operational workflows within engineering-focused organizations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work as a team to teardown and rebuild large and small components and assemblies

Clean and prep parts for inspection

Move components by operating overhead cranes, jib hoists and pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

Maintain cleanliness throughout your work areas and the shop for good housekeeping and safety

Perform NDT testing

Required to fill out inspection documents completely, i.e.. Complete all inspection packet forms and take pictures of all parts.

Read maintenance manuals and drawings

Use material analyzer to detect coatings and identify parent material

Proficient at using and reading micrometers and other instruments for inspections

Resolve small or routine discrepancies and bring high level problems to supervisor for resolutions.

Learn to use the ERP system to enter time and Work order information

Maintains high quality standards on all tasks and meets time requirements on assigned jobs

Understand processes of the remanufacturing of parts

Works with Engineering and Customers as needed for optimal product production

Demonstrate an aptitude to learn and grow within the department and shop

Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification in mechanics or equivalent is required.

Proven experience as a technician in an industrial, automotive, or engineering environment.

Red Seal HET preferred
-
A minimum of 3+ years of complex mechanical experience is required.
Technical Skills
-
Proficiency in ERP Management System is required.

Expert-level mechanical aptitude is required.

Highly experienced with all hand and power tools, machinery, and precision tooling.

Exceptional knowledge of technical documents, diagrams, and blueprints is required.

Ability to operate a variety of supporting equipment is preferred.
