JOB TITLE: Term Part-Time Driver
REPORTS TO: Program Manager, Richmond Winter Shelters
DESCRIPTION:
Operates a motor vehicle with a seating capacity of 10 or less (including driver), for the purpose of transporting passengers to and from events such as programs, appointments, and outings. Performs routine inspection and maintenance duties on vehicles and related equipment.
SALARY RANGE: Grid 2 – HEU – Community Subsector
EMPLOYEE CATEGORY: Part-Time, Term (November 1, 2026 - April 4, 2027, contingent upon final funding approval)

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Grade 12
· Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract
· Recent, related experience of one year OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience OR other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
· Ability to deal with others effectively
· Physically able to lift up to 50lbs
· Ability to operate related equipment
· Ability to organize workload independently
· Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
· Driving knowledge of the applicable area
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Transports passengers to various locations by operating a motor vehicle with a seating capacity of 10 or less (including driver).
· Loads and unloads items such as materials, supplies, and clients’ household items.
· Assists passengers to get in and out of the vehicle. Ensures that passengers and equipment are safely harnessed when the vehicle is in operation.
· Performs routine inspection and maintenance duties on vehicles and equipment such as securing loads, cleaning the interior and exterior of the vehicle, fueling the vehicle, checking belts, lights, and tires, and maintaining fluid levels. Recommends vehicle and equipment repairs as required.
· Assists passengers during transportation by performing duties such as providing information, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing problems and emergencies that arise, in accordance with established guidelines.
· Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as logbooks.
· Manages the calendar of transport for all sites.
· Performs administrative support duties such as answering telephones, booking client trips, altering schedules, and arranging times for picking up and dropping off clients.
· Performs other related duties as assigned

Pay: $24.54 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 8.0 per week
