Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Summer Camp Assistants to support our summer programs in ABA Scarborough 3785 Kinston Road. This role involves working closely with children to ensure a safe, engaging, and educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to creating a positive summer experience for all participants. Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education , ABA therapy is a plus. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in education, childcare, or youth development to gain valuable hands-on experience during the summer months.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead instructors in planning and executing daily camp activities that promote learning and fun.
- Supervise children during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children with their daily routines, including snack time, bathroom breaks, and rest periods.
- Engage children in educational games, arts and crafts, sports, and other recreational activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork and social development.
- Help with setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after sessions.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress or concerns when necessary.
- Follow all safety protocols and camp policies to ensure a secure environment for children.
Skills
- Experience in ABA/IBI therapy or teaching young children with special needs is preferred.
- Strong ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and team members professionally.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for engaging young minds in fun learning experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing a positive summer camp experience for all participants.
Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
