Job Overview
Martel Tree Service is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Arborist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tree care and removal services while maintaining high safety standards and providing excellent service to clients. This role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Certification and specialized equipment experience are considered strong assets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate power saws and tree care equipment in accordance with workplace safety regulations.
- Perform tree pruning, removals, and general arboriculture duties.
- Haul brush, logs, and debris from job sites.
- Feed and assist with wood chippers safely and efficiently.
- Operate grapple trucks and stump grinders as required.
- Climb trees when necessary (an asset).
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a professional, good-tempered attitude at all times.
- Communicate professionally with clients and the public on job sites.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
Skills
- Previous experience in arboriculture or related field preferred.
- Air brake endorsement on a valid driver’s license is an asset and will be required as soon as possible after employment.
- ISA Certification is a significant asset.
- Strong awareness of workplace safety and hazard prevention.
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism.
- Good communication and public relations skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
