Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Pie Maker to join our team. This role involves preparing pies and other menu items and includes customer service; serving customers and running the till when needed. The ideal candidate must have experience in food preparation, follows food safety practices, and has a background in food service or restaurant settings.
Food handler certificate is required.
Duties
- Make pie dough and pastry from scratch, adjusting technique and timing based on feel and ingredient variation
- Prepare meat pie fillings on a regular basis
- Prepare frozen entrees
- Run daily production start to finish, with minimal oversight
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards
- Manage stock levels and flag/order supplies as needed
- Serve customers and run the till when needed
- Work independently for stretches without direct supervision
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service roles, preferably within a restaurant or bakery setting
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen experience that demonstrates familiarity with kitchen equipment and food industry standards
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety compliance
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
