We’re looking for an experienced Operations Field Manager to take ownership of field production, lead our crews, and ensure every project is executed to the highest standard.
The Role
This is a senior field leadership position responsible for overseeing all active job sites while developing a strong, accountable field team.
This role combines:
- Operational Leadership – managing people, performance, and production
- Hands-On Field Support – stepping into projects when needed
You will be the bridge between field execution and company leadership, ensuring alignment across production, quality, and client experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role first. The majority of your time will be spent actively working on job sites (on the tools) in a Foreman-style capacity—leading by example and directly contributing to project execution. In addition, you will dedicate approximately 1 hour per day to reviewing other active projects, supporting foremen, and ensuring all sites remain on track. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys staying hands-on while guiding overall project success.
Team Structure & Leadership Scope
You will lead and manage the field division, typically consisting of:
- Up to 4 Foremen
- Up to 3 Apprentices (directly or through foremen)
- Additional staff or subcontractors depending on project volume
Field Leadership Structure
Operations Field Manager -> Foremen -> Apprentices -> Subcontractors (via foremen)
You are accountable for the performance, structure, and efficiency of this entire team.
Leadership & Management Responsibilities
Management Meetings & Reporting
You will represent Field Operations in leadership meetings, providing clear and structured updates on:
- Job site performance and overall production health
- Project timelines, risks, and delays
- Labour capacity and workforce challenges
- Operational issues impacting execution
- Recommended solutions and corrective actions
Operational Visibility
You will maintain full visibility across all active projects and report on:
- Project milestones and completion status
- Client experience and any concerns
- Material delays and their impact on timelines
- Workforce allocation and performance
- Subcontractor reliability and progress
Acting Leadership Coverage
From time to time, you may step in to support or temporarily cover responsibilities of the Director of Operations, ensuring continuity of leadership across the field team.
Core Accountability (What You Own)
You are responsible for protecting and driving these five pillars:
- Production: Projects stay on schedule and moving efficiently
- Quality: Work meets PHS craftsmanship standards
- Leadership: Teams are structured, supported, and accountable
- Safety: Full compliance with COR and workplace safety standards
- Client Experience: Organized, professional, and responsive job sites
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Crew Development
- Lead, mentor, and support foremen in daily operations
- Provide guidance on construction challenges and decision-making
- Resolve conflicts between trades and team members
- Reinforce company standards for professionalism and productivity
- Build a strong, efficient field team structure
Project Oversight & Production Management
- Conduct regular job site visits (minimum 1 per project weekly where practical)
- Review ongoing progress through photo updates (minimum 3 per project weekly)
- Identify schedule risks early and implement solutions
- Reallocate labour to maintain production flow
- Ensure labour hours align with output and efficiency
- Communicate schedule impacts to clients when required
- Escalate major risks to the Director of Operations
Quality Control & Site Auditing
- Perform job site audits to ensure:
- High-quality workmanship
- Clean, organized job sites
- Proper protection of materials and finishes
- Adherence to project scope
- Ensure deficiencies are addressed promptly and do not carry forward
Safety Oversight
- Enforce COR safety standards across all sites
- Correct unsafe practices immediately
- Report and support resolution of safety issues
- Assist with safety investigations when required
Change Order & Technical Support
- Assist with labour estimation for change orders when needed
- Support field feasibility and execution planning
- (Pricing and documentation handled by the design team)
Fleet, Tools & Asset Management
- Ensure vehicles are maintained, clean, and damage is reported
- Oversee tool tracking through Corfix
- Maintain organization and accountability of all equipment
- Report and resolve missing or damaged assets
Operational Improvement
- Review SOPs and current workflows
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Contribute to building stronger systems for:
- Production
- Quality
- Client experience
- Profitability
Subcontractor Oversight
- Review subcontractor performance through foreman feedback
- Address issues related to:
- Quality
- Scheduling reliability
- Professionalism
Project Documentation & Marketing Support
- Capture job site photos and videos
- Provide walkthroughs and updates for marketing use
- Ensure all content reflects the company professionally
Acting Foreman (When Required)
When needed, you will step into an active project and:
- Supervise crews directly
- Coordinate trades and workflow
- Ensure timelines and safety standards are maintained
Performance & Growth
A Field Operations KPI system will be introduced, measuring:
- Timeline adherence
- Job site audit performance
- Safety compliance
- Leadership effectiveness
- Reporting accuracy
- Production efficiency
Bonus opportunities will be tied to performance as systems are implemented.
