We are looking for a
Registered Nurse to work with our
PACU Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.
Position Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Nurse within the PACU Department.
The Registered Nurse (RN) in PACU/Recovery Room is accountable for providing safe, competent, and patient- and family-centred post-anesthetic nursing care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Standards of Practice, applicable peri-anesthesia standards, and Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) policies, procedures, and approved standards of care.
The commitment for regular part-time Level 2 Nurse will be as follows:

Is available for fifty-two (52) weeks per year minus vacation entitlement; and

Could be pre-scheduled a minimum of 33.75 hours per month, which includes 1 weekend; and

Is available to work either Christmas or New Year’s period; and

Is available to be pre-scheduled a minimum of 45 hours/month from June to September and must include a minimum of 1 weekend/month; and
-
Submits additional availability in the manner prescribed by the Hospital.
Qualifications:

Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.

Minimum completion of a Diploma in Nursing required; BScN preferred.

Completion of a recognized Peri-anesthesia Nursing Program, or HLNE peri-anesthesia course required.

Current BCLS certification required.

Current ACLS certification required.
- Current PALS certification required.

Basic Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Education required. CC1 acceptable or completion of ECG course required within two (2) months of hire.

Ability to provide on-call coverage as part of a regular on-call rotation required.

Minimum two (2) years of recent PACU experience preferred.

Previous perioperative or surgical services experience considered an asset.

Knowledge and understanding of NAPANc standards considered an asset.

Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, communication, and initiative skills, including the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interprofessional team.

Demonstrated ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Acceptable performance and attendance records.
Hiring Salary Range: $41.15 - $58.98
